Default Anybody have any experiences w/ the SONY MD player?

I thinking about buying one.

My only concern is the durability. I'll be walking around with it while I work and it'll be knocked around quite a bit.

Can you also store data on the Mini discs, or is it just music files?

first off...... Sony MD players are well worth the money.

I have had two... the only reason why i have a second one is it is a Net mini disk player (can download music off the net and store it at 4X normal capacity) and that the first one was a little out of date.

I have never had a problem with them getting damaged.... i have dropped it and abused it, yes it may have a scratch or two and a few dents but nothing inside has been damaged.
I would reccomend if you are going to buy one get a MD player with a "chewing gum stick" (very thin battery) as these save space and stop the MD player from getting so bulky.
Unfortunaty you cant store data on the MD's as they only hold music files.

I have my sony on me every single day, i listen to it at work , in the car and when i walk about they are light and very small.

No complaints here.

(Dam i sound like a sales rep )

Well, that's good it hear. I am on a buget so I don't think I'll be able to purchase the one with the battery stick. My cap is $120.

Thanks for your input.

i have had 3 protable MD players, and had a MD player/Recorder in my Mercedes. It could record off the radio and from my CD changer!!!

With the radio, if you heard a song you liked, and there was a blank MD in the deck, you hit record, and it would still have the 10 seconds before you hit the record button stored in a buffer memory!! Coolest thing ever!

i have a Sony MD player that i used to use all the time until i got an mp3 player. anyway, i find that it takes a long time to record from CDs. like it's real-time. unless there's a function where i can speed that up that i don't know about, that's my only gripe. i like how it's lil and durable.

i've had my sony md player for 5 years or so as well. the only thing i've changed are the batteries. (i think it's the mzr55 or something).
new ones are cheaper, and probably have better shock absorption.
i love my md player

i still have that one (MZR55) in blue! Really nice unit, very durable. All the new ones are plastic, this one is metal, got some nice weight to it!
