Anybody here been skydiving?
Absolutely the best rush you can possibly ever get!!! I would highly recommend AFF the first time, so much better. I have been out 21 time over the last 3 years, can't wait until spring!!! Make sure you flare your parachute before you land or you'll be hurtin!!!

Jumped in July 1980 outside Reno NV...air temp was about 105, no wind. I was first out of the plane, and the sensation was indescribable. There was no feeling of falling, just floating, since I couldn't see the horizon to measure my descent against. The desert thermals kept me aloft for what seemed like forever. I summersaulted on landing -- good thing I wore a crash helmet.
Just writing about it makes me want to do it again.

I tried skydiving in '96, near Ottawa. It was about $150 (cdn, eh?). We had 4 hours of training; how to get out of the plane, what to look for to make sure the chute deployed properly, how to steer, how to land and, most importantly, what to do in an emergency. We had one way radios so the instructor could guide us down to the landing area.
There were a lot of people and we where scheduled in the last group to go up, but the sun had set and they postponed the jump till the next day. Imagine having to wait 16 hours before jumping! It was such a blast though. Much more fun (and long-lasting) than bungee jumping.
Go ahead and do it!
