Went skydiving twice. Once solo and once tandem. I recommend tandem for the first time. Less worry, more fun. Nothing like the feeling once you get to freefall. And once you land, it's eupohoric. Like knowing what a bird feels like
I did an AFF jump a few years ago in Suffolk, VA and it was totally kickass! Jumped at around 14,500 feet, had an instructor on each side of me hanging on, time to pull at 4500 feet....now I'm floating around like a bird
Totally awesome experience! I even got a video of the whole thing

I did the reverse from most. I took the course and did several static line jumps solo from Cessna 182's and a big DeHaviland Caribou. By the time I did my first Tandem some of the thrill was gone but it is still plenty of fun. Some years later I dropped from a tower on some kind of swing contraption at Six Flags Over Texas. The ground rush from dropping head first from only 200 feet towards the parking lot far exceeded any "thrill" I've found skydiving. Strangely I find skydiving very relaxing since you are forced to focus on the moment instead of anything else in the world. Catching a cloud in freefall is dreamlike and the canopy ride affords a 360 panorama that can't be beat.
