Anyone actually listen to the radio anymore?

XM came with my car so I've been living with it for the past year. Clearly better than FM but far from the ultimate. The problem I have is with the playlists, they just don't seem to hit the right rotation for me, despite numerous genres. In fact, I like the Music Choice channels on my cable TV better than XM. However, one nice thing is that once you are a subscriber, you can log in over the internet and have access to all the channels over your PC (assuming you have a high-speed internet connection that can stream).

Yup, same goes for Sirius as well. With the number of home entertainment systems the have a computer interconnected in some way, you no longer have to worry about satellite reception in your house.

I keep my mp3 player in the car. That is what I usually listen to. Although there is one rock radio station up here in Seattle that actually plays music in the mornings. So sometimes I will listen to them. And they are pretty good about keeping the commercials down. They will do 3 or 4 songs, and then about 2 minutes of commercials. It seems to go pretty quick.

There is another station though, that does about 3 o 4 songs, and then like 15 or 20 minutes of commercials. Every time I turn it there, they are on a commercial. I'm not even sure they play music anymore.

My commute is 1 - 2 hours each way every day. I usually listen to NPR, and occasionally switch to the local traffic report.

If I want music, I'll play a CD.

Are you serious?
How else would one pronounce it, Double D?

I haven't ever been able to listen to radio. Between commercials and inane DJs I just can't take it.

They have Sirius at my gym and I find it almost as annoying as regular radio, mostly because it's supposed to be 'ad free' but they have endless product placement blurbs.

The DJs are always yakking on with crap like "Did you see Americal Idol last night?", "Yesterday my UPS man dropped off...", and so on. I would much prefer an iPod to that crap.

They also annoy me because they insist on pronouncing Sirius as 'serious'. But that's just me.
What channel are you listening to at your gym, wait it sound slike that shitty channel called sirius one. Yes that channel sucks monkey turds.

I listen to local sports talk most of the day. Its mindless, but I just want background noise.
