Anyone collect art?
I'm a big fan of James Coleman's contemporary paintings, though I can hardly afford any of his paintings
Anyone know who James Coleman is or collect other paintings?

My wife and I collect Otsuka paintings. He learned to paint on silk kimonos. Awesome guy and real cool in person. My wife looks quite a bit like the women he puts in his paintings so he is always glad to meet her.
This little pics don't do his art justice because when you get up close there is tremendous texture and detail in it.
My favorite that we have..(47 Ronin)

A few of the many other ones we have..

Matt, that's some cool art!
Scot, no, I don't have that kind of money
but I have known James and his family since I was a teenager and I've always been impressed by his work. I like to buy repros or lithographs

I make mobiles.
I've always loved Alexander Calder's works and one day I was looking at one at the NY MoMA and wondered to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool if each piece could rotate independently?"
so I went home and designed a frictionless mag-lev joint (patent pending
) and started making my own mobiles... which look nothing like Calder's. for one, since my mobiles use mag-lev joints, weight is an issue, so they're primarily made out of aluminum and copper... and these days I use carbon fiber instead of aluminum.
unfortunately, I am sooooo friggin busy with life, I never have time to make art anymore.
