Anyone compare the S2000 and the Prelude
I traded in my 6 month old '99 Prelude on my S2000 in Sept 99, and while I have no regrets, I sometimes miss my Prelude. I loved the styling, handling, and daily driving ability. The S2000 isnt my daily driver, and I long to be able to take my little beast out at times when I am forced to take my Accord.
In short, I miss the Prelude, but the S2000 is a scream... I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I own a 94 Si and an '01 S2K. . .
As everyone else has stated there are differences. . .
Most notably:
The S2K has a smaller gas tank, less interior space, a smaller trunk & fewer speakers. . .
On the other hand. . . The S2000 handles significantly better (hard to believe since IMO the Prelude handles great), the S2K also has significantly better acceleration. . .
Other things to keep in mind. . . The Prelude can be driven fast without worry, while the S2000, will step out at the limits. . . Also, the S requires more attention from the driver while driving. . .
Bottomline, I wouldn't refer to the S2K and the Prelude as completely different, but I would say that they are complimentary. . . The Prelude is a great coupe for daily driving, long road trips & general sporty use. . . The S2K is meant to be driven.
My suggestion. . . keep the Prelude as a daily driver, get the S2000 for weekends and compare for yourself

I owned a '97 Prelude SH...great car, best handling FWD'er I've even driven, but it's performance and character fall far short of the S2000.
Will this car be your only mode of transportation, however? I wouldn't buy an S2000 if that's the case, since its impracticality would be too limiting on my lifestyle.

i also had a couple of preludes[a silver then a black] that i drove as daily prior to the s2k...a wonderful car for long, long drives or in bumper to bumper...way more relaxing to drive than the roadster...i miss the 'lude....but not that much!!!!i'm thinking of a "pre-owned"[brother in law's] bimmer wagon as a replacement for the prelude cruiser...a nice partner in the garage for the s2k.
