Is anyone a cop
Im about to graduate H.S and was thinking about becoming one. I have a few questions for the ones that are.
1) Job Pay ( probably wont get an answer but who knows)
2) Schooling (college or maybe an academy)
3) Any other imput is welcomed
Thanks in advance if you can help
Also I thought about working with computers. For example, running or installing/working on the computers in a hospital or business.
Any info there woud be great also.

Cop a feel?
Kidding.
The pay depends on where you are.
Here in NYC they recently changed the pay scale for police officers. They start at 40k and go up to around 95k after 5 years.
The requirement is a HS diploma usually but in order for you to move up to certain ranks you need some sort of college credits or a degree.
Being a cop has its perks. Good benefits, early retirement, pension.
Plus you get to be badass.

I'm not a cop, but around here you need some Law Enforcement experience or a Degree (or lots of college credits).
My advice is University PD while you're in school for Criminal Justice. You'll probably get a break in tuition while earning some cash and invaluable experience.

Im thinking about taking this up. At my school we have to have a 6hr job shadowing thing where we go and fallow around people doing there job in my case I would fallow a police officer. Im going to be doing that and maybe if they like me I can land a job with them for a few years and after that move to a bigger area after I have had some experience and that'll help with pay benefits also.
As far as a degree that would be fine with me as long as I would make enough money to pay the tuition off lol.
A few more questions..
- To be an officer do you have to be 18 or 21? :fingers crossed hopefully I only have to be 18:
- Im sure they put you through training with guns etc, but what kind of training is it?
on a side note who doesnt like to be a hardass

I would try going to school for Biotechnology if you want to do something with computers and healthcare. Think of the 6 Million Dollar Man...
Being a police officer takes a lot of responsibility. Some turn out to be very good at what they do but others tend to think that their shit don't stink and that just because they wear a badge they are always right, which is hardly the case.
