Is anyone a cop
As I stated before I do have to be 21 so I have 3 years to wait. Ill admit there are the cops that have the respect my authority attitude. But on the other hand there are the ones that are nicer than the rest. You can be nice at certain occasions but you do have to have a backbone on others..
oh yea BerlinaBlackS2kguy I would go through and weed out the ones that I didnt like

Holy shat .. they make that much? I always considered before doing that .. but thought the pay was always crappy.
Rinker .. not sure if you've looked into how hard it is to get into forensics. My girl is getting a masters in BioChem and she wants to do the whole forensic thingy, but its hard to get into (here in CA anyways).

Generally, officers in an affluent town will make more base pay then an officer in a crime-ridden city. You are young. I would get a degree first. 95% of my academy class had a degree. About 85% had thier bachelors. Having a degree will make you more appealing to police agencies. If you are looking ONLY for a J.O.B. in law enforcement, i would go with homeland security/ice. If you want to be a street cop getting real bad guys, go with a large metropolitan city with some sort of permenant tax base (like a large hospital). I will tell you, most departments are hurting b/c of the economic crisis. Many have placed freezes on hiring. You should ride out the storm in school and when you get out with a degree, hopefully this mess will be over. Also, some advice: 1) If you smoke weed STOP NOW 2) If you drink to excess STOP NOW 3) If you hang out with friends who do any of the above STOP HANGING OUT with them 4) Keep your credit CLEAN. 5) Keep your driving history CLEAN (Do not speed or street race)
If you can not do these simple things, then you do not have the maturity to wear a badge and carry a gun. Most departments will look closely at these areas. Also, check out a book put out by ARCO. I think it's called police officer's exam or something or another. Many departments have a police explorers/internship program. I would def. get into that so they can put a face to your name.
Generally speaking, MOST officers top out b/w 55-68K (after 3-5 years). Those departments that top out at over 90K are far and few between.
You can PM me if you need anymore info or have any questions.

99% of them. I've never met one that was worth a damn and I have family members who are cops. They are all on power trips. Dicks. they do get me out of tickets though.
They do have too much power and are rarely held accountable when they abuse it. Cops should be held with the same punushments as anyone else when they break the law, but seems they get special treatment. One law for us, and another for them...

Does anyone else see police officers or anything else that turn on their lights just to get through a traffic light? Or is it just where I live?
