have you gotten your visa for china yet? i heard they were hard as hell to get now?

cheapest airfare can be found on those airline search engine sites...but my only recommendation is to not fly an american-based airline (united, aa, northwest, etc). most international-based airlines have newer planes and even in economy you'll get a more comfortable seat with a digital, on-demand entertainment system. and hot, young female flight attendants. united sucks!
No, we have not gotten our visas or even airfare tickets yet. Still 1 1/2 months away from the expected travel date, but looks like I'm gonna have to hurry the process.

I've been on Asian airlines and have to agree. They only hire very nice-looking lady attendants to intentionally give male passengers a hard-on. On the other hand, the U.S. airlines have the equal employment rules to follow, to not to discriminate based on looks, etc. That's why on U.S. airlines, there can be old and not so nice-looking attendants. But whatever! I'm not traveling for the observation of attendants. So far, I've priced business class and it's about $2500/each. And that's not even first class.

I understand. But it's very simple to see that I wasn't trying to "spam" any of you into going to see Miss Universe and the Olympics. In fact, I'd prefer you not to go so it wouldn't be so crowded and competitive (in prices).

when I went to the Atlanta olympics tickets to many events could be had cheap right before the event from people who had them but couldn't attend. Of course the most popular events will be hard.
