magusaptus,

thats the reason why i live in cali! we dont have slave plantations here, just soup plantation.

dang did you shit a brick when you heard that horse coming? could it have just been the sound of your feet pounding the ground just echoing off something? or did you actually "feel" the horse's presence?

One night, me and two friends were bored, and one of my buddies told us about an old plantation down the road that was supposed to be haunted. Being the stupid teenagers we were, 1 AM was a great time to visit such a place. (I grew up in a small town about 40 miles east of Columbia, SC.) The story goes that the owner of the plantation was very cruel to his slaves, and tortured and killed many of them.

This isn't an encounter with a ghost, but when I was in the cub-scouts, we were taken to the local church yard to look around the graves to find the oldest person, youngest person, all that sort of stuff (aparently it is to make you feel more at ease with the concept of graves and grave yards). Well at the time I about 12 years old and found a grave of someone with the same name as me who died at the age of 16.....

It scared the shit out of me and I was worried about it for the next 4 years. Refusing to ever go into that graveyard until I was 17 years old!!!!!

I've probably heard hundreds of ghost stories in my life - on TV, in books, from others and ones like these. Of all stories that I've heard, none of them, not even one has resulted in injury to a person. Why? Think back to all of the stories on this thread and not any of them has caused any physical harm to anyone.

Does anyone have any stories where someone has been hurt by ghosts? I don't have some weird desire to hear of people being hurt but these types of stories never seem to occur. I've had this curiosity for a while and wondered if ghosts ever do hurt people or just scare the zhit out of them.
