anyone ever encounter with ghost??
Hehe, y'all are great. This turned into a pretty cool thread. I like how both sides are represented with mutual respect. I don't claim that my picture is truly a ghost and I welcome thoughts and opinions. My friend came back from New Orleans (my old stompin' ground) with a pictures that she swore was a ghost on top of a building in the French Quarter. When I ran it through some filters, it ended up just being the top frame of the house that was sort of fogged out.
I took my pics with a digital camera and did not play with them at all. I guess that's what made it so interesting to me. Also, the pics here are small. The ones on my hard drive are much bigger because they were taken with a high resolution camera and they show much more detail.
If anyone is interested in seeing the bigger versions of the ghost pic above and the orb pics that I took at Bunnyman Bridge, just pm me with your email address and I'll send them to you.
Cheers!

In my hometown, Ruidoso, New Mexico, there is a 5 acre piece of property behind town that has 8-foot chain link all the way around it, and has been closed off to the public for as long as I can remember. In the middle of that property is a burned down boarding house for children. About 80 years or so ago, there were about 50 children that stayed there, and about 10 attendents. One day, someone had seen smoke coming out of that boarding house, when the fire units got there, there was nobody there. They continued to put out the fire, and look for bodies, but, there were none. No trace as to where they may have gone, nothing at all. Now, Ruidoso right now is just breaching it's 7,000 population mark. That's a lot of people to just disappear back then. And, supposedly, Unsolved Mysteries has done a segment on one of their shows about it.
New Mexico is also home to a town called Lincoln. Very small town. Not more than 50 people living there still. Lincoln was THE home of Billy the Kid. They have the jail where he was held, and other historic landmarks. If you walk into Lincoln, and ask anybody, they will tell you that whole town is haunted. I can recall watching one the many 'ghost story' shows on Discovery, where one of the residents there had a segment on his house. Very creepy.
And, of course there are the numerous Indian Tribes in New Mexico. And where there are Tribes, there are usually Burial Grounds. Which one the contractors of one of our many golf courses found out while the hills and dips on the course were being dug out. I remember that golf course being built while I attended the school right behind it. It was strange. Before I had found out that they had found remains of a Burial Ground, I had been having visions of one Chief, in full headdress, and everything. Never said anything, just stood there. Creeped me out. Still kinda does.

I have two, neither which have happend to me. I've never had an encounter of any sort to be honest.
My best friend (Pegah), her brother Steve, and sister Nina all seem to be getting the encounters.
First encounter:
Steve and his girlfriend are out driving on a rainy night. He's dropping her off at her house. While driving through her neighborhood, they see a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jogging in the rain. The freaky part about this was that NEITHER of them could see anything below the waist. In other words, this "person" had no legs. Cara (Steves GF) was way to scared to go home. So after a little more driving, they saw a cop pulled over by one of the houses. They stopped and got out of he car and started talking to the cop. Steve then began telling his story about what he saw. As he began to describe what he saw, the cop immediatley interrupted him and FINISHED up the description of the "person" for him. Steve was like WTF how did you know? And the cop had said that it's been reported by several people all night.
This story freaked me out when I heard it.
Second encounter:
Pegah was laying down in her sisters room doing her HW. It was about 12:30 A.M. when she decided she needed a break. So she just remained on the floor with her eyes open staring into the turned off TV. As she's looking into the TV, she says somenes reflection coming inside the room and getting down on one knee beside her. She assumed it was her mom. A second later, she heard a whisper in her ear "Pegah, Pegah, wake up, wake up." At this point, she still thought it was her mom. She then responded to the whisper and turned her self around, only to see that no one was there. 3 weeks before this incident, Pegah and her mom were downstairs watching TV. Out of no where, Nina came runnind downstairs and looked at Pegah and said "VERY FUNNY! I know it was you!" Pegah was like WTF? And Nina said "I know that was you that came and whispered in my ear." It coudln't have been Pegah cause she was downstairs with her mom the whole time and no one else was home. And a week after that, 1 week before Pegahs incident, something similar happened to Steve. He woke up one morning and came downstairs. He asked Pegah "why the hell did you come in my room last night and start whispiring in my ear?" Again, Pegah was like WTF?
All of these stories have gone unexplained.

Ok for those that have already read my story about how I felt a presence during my nap on the couch... well the presence thing happened to me again last night in my room. Instead, I was half awake, and I could feel something close by. I was in shock, but since my eyes are close I saw a bright white light. I was getting all sorts if images and visions in my mind, but the one I remember the most was a car accident. I saw a black car get into an accident, that's all I know. And as usual, as all of this is happening, I try to scream again, but couldn't, and I try to move, but I can't! I don't dare open my eyes, but the only thing I could do was breath and panic. I know this was real, I can usually tell if I'm dreaming or if its reality, trust me. Once I woke up, I was paranoid to go back to sleep for the next hour. So after that, I guess I was less paranoid, but I got up when my dad usually wakes up for his work (5am). I tell him I just can't sleep, and to drive safely (he drives a black accord). I also tell my mom about it, which she doesn't get scared at all (she's been through much more than I have!). I wanted her to drive safely also, since she drive's a black mercedes. Well anyways... on the way home today.... as I passed by my little sister's school (Westoff Elementary for those in Walnut/Diamond Bar area) and I noticed a lot of police cars, and paramedics are there. There was a car accident, a toyota previa crushed a bit, and a black mercedes all crushed up (No, not my mom! Thank God it wasn't her!). And as I passed by... I was kinda shocked... maybe just a coincidence? or something is trying to tell me something? It only happened today!
I had a very bad encounter back in high school with a ghost (or something). One night, me and two friends were bored, and one of my buddies told us about an old plantation down the road that was supposed to be haunted. Being the stupid teenagers we were, 1 AM was a great time to visit such a place. (I grew up in a small town about 40 miles east of Columbia, SC.) The story goes that the owner of the plantation was very cruel to his slaves, and tortured and killed many of them.
Anyway, I don't even remember the name of the plantation, but I remember not much was left of it. One thing that does stick out on my mind is that it is on the end of a very long dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, we pull up to the place (it as not very obvious-- the road just sort of ended), and we set off with flashlights to search. There were places on the ground which were obviously old building foundations. We found about a dozen of these foundations-- they were , and they were square and made out of sort of stone or brick. Anyway, we came across a building that was actually standing-- it looked to be an old barn (or it used to be a barn). It was about to fall over. We went to the doors to take a look inside, and we found the doors to be apparently locked. Being the stupid teenagers we were, we decided to push on the doors very hard, in an attempt to open them (rock them back and forth). In hindsight, I think that was about the stupiest thing I have ever done in my life.
It happened in an instant, and I am having a seriously hard time writing this. There were loud bangs that seemed to come from inside the barn, followed by blood curtling high-pitch screams. Thinking back on it, these noises were as loud as a train. Then we heard something that sounded like a horse neighing? I feel like I was frozen there in fright for an eternity, and it took forever for the command of "move feet, haul @ss" was interpreted by my legs. The three of us hauled it back to the truck as fast as we could.
I was the slowest of the three, pulling up the rear. I heard a what sounded like a really big horse running up behind me, but I just could not run any faster. The three of us piled in the truck (it was an older chevy pickup). I had just closed the door when the truck took off like a bat out of hell. The sound of the horse running was still there, and it was loud as anything. I remember it being painfully loud. We were getting it back down that long dirt road.. and I mean fast. It seemed that we could not go fast enough to get away.
As quickly as it started, it was over. I don't know how long it all lasted. The sound of the horse stopped, but we did not slow down at all. We went to the local Waffle House for some coffee and did not sleep at all that night. None of us have been back to that place since. No plans for a return visit, either.
Take it or leave it; I swear it's true.
