Default Anyone go to fullsail?

Im currently going to community college, and i'm lost on what i wanna do with my life. Iv'e been looking at fullsail for either the videogames or music program (2 things i love), or even possibly something in their film program, camera operator. The school is very expensive; so i'm curious to see if anyone has any experience with it, or maybe someone with a friend who's gone/going. I'm seriously going no where with school; and i'm thinking, why not pursue a career in something i love, the entertainment business. I have an appointment sunday to check the place out. I appreciate any insight/ suggestions/ help. Thanks.

So was it beneficial for them? I'm really considering going for music in videogames. I love videogames but don't think i have the ability to program them. Iv'e always loved music so it just seems like that would be the perfect thing for me. Thanks for the responses.

I know it well. Like any school, its all what you make of it. The game market seems to also be expanding into many other sectors like (military and civilian) simulators as well. Who would make a better "game" than the US military, right? If you arent pretty comfortable with math and physics, coding games is probably not for you.

I have friends who are FS grads who have won Grammys (some multiple), Oscars, Emmys, Addys, and every other award you could name; written blockbuster films, serve at Lucas and Pixar, code games like Madden, Quake, and Call of Duty; mix monitors for Madonna, light Cirque du Soleil, and some who sit on thier butt, wait for a job to come knocking at thier door and cry about not having any work.

If you arent sure you want to be in the entertainment media industry, FS is definately not for you. If the entertainment media industry is the ONLY area you see yourself working....FS is one of the very best, hands down.

I had not heard of them until my stepson received some brochures. The place sounds great for the entertainment industry.

If you're worried about the cost, a lot of private schools with high tutions offer a lot of scholarships to bring the cost down from really expensive to just expensive. Check to see how many students receive scholarships and what the average amount is.

the one that went to FS is doing sweet FA with his degree, the one that went to SAE has just officially started working for himself down in Miami, actually using his degree.

That being said, my friend went to Berklee for music business and been very successful, he worked at Gemini and then got recruited from there to go to Scratch magazine to head up their advertising sales department.

I reckon it's 1) who you know and 2) your drive.. at the end of the day if you've got the talent and the drive and know how to get your foot in the door (at the very least) the world is your oyster
