Anyone Got Hookups At Bestbuy?
NFR, thanks! I'm looking for the Pioneer Pro FHD1 unit. But is it safe to buy and have shipped??? What happens if there's damage??? Warranties? Has anyone ever bought a plasma online???
those are very nice sets, but not if you want 1080p
If you buy it online, shipping should be insured, and the set warrantied by the manufac.. so any problems after that are taken care of my the manufac, not the seller.

Warranty in the US is a law. If the product is sealed, if I buy a plasma from my local bodega, the manufacturer, by law, has implied warranty. They cannot renouce warranty that easily. Just because it wasnt purchased from an authorized dealer, doesnt mean the product isnt the same, and it doesnt mean they are no longer responsible for it.
Second, if you have a problem, you call up the manufacturer, and tell them you have a problem. If they ask you where you got it, you say it was a gift. They will ask you for your serial number. Since the tv IS real, and the serial number IS real, they have no grounds as to decline your warranty.
Third, almost nothing ever happens to plasmas that is honored by warranty. Burn in IS NOT covered.
Forthly, if you do buy from best buy, you will have to deal with them, and let me tell you, dealing with Circuit City or Best Buy is no picnic.

I just saved $2600 last weeekend on our new 56" Samsung DLP TV and 5.1 Klipsch+Denon surround sound system. You guys wouldn't believe the mark up on some of the stuff they sell..
