You, sir, must have had a lot of stress since you were a baby. The few times I did grind my teeth, I had trouble putting a subway sandwich into my mouth the next day.

Wow, I was just sitting here noticing that my teeth are a little sore. I've been doing it for years. I just had my finger in my mouth feeling around.

Now I think I'm having some issue with my wisdom teeth at the back because the gum behind my right rearmost molar is swollen and sore. I'm wondering if there's a tooth coming through underneath. The gum is slightly raised and getting in the way of contact between the bottom and top molar. It's friggin annoying.

I used to grind them really loud or also clench them till my jaw would make a cracking sound. Had to get fitted with a mouth guard to wear at night. I it most commonly stress induced. If you don't break the habit, you will wear your teeth down quick.

When I was responsible for several hundred employees scattered all over the country and major problems would come up I would grind mine badly. I actually cracked two grinding and one broke badly enough that I had to have a crown put on it.

It might be time for you to get an occlusal guard before you do serious damage.

Grinder here. Broke one tooth, chipped almost all in the front.

You can get the dentist to make you a mouth guard or buy a football mouth guard from Target for $2 and cut enough off of it to make it comfortable while you sleep. Slice one down so its comfortable but not small enough that you could swallow. Heat and fit. Presto. My dentist wanted several hundred for a custom.
