Thanks for all of the suggestions! I spoke to my optometrist today after dropping another $300 for new contacts. He said that they'd be able to do it just fine and recomended a doctor for me to see. Now the only question left is: Which comes first, the Lasik or the Exhaust?

I just got an e-mail back from my friend who had the laser eye surgery. He had it done at TLC. Here's a link:

In England Moorfields Eye Hospital is the place which pioneered this surgery
There is a great pdf file all about laser eye surgery, the best I have seen haha

I had mine done around a year ago. My only regret is not having done it sooner and the fact that competition from area doctors drove the price down 50% only a couple of months after I'd had my procedure. I did make sure I had the best doctor in the area and the procedure and recovery were virtually pain less. You must be diligent about using eye drops (both anabiotic and re-wetting), but if you're used to contacts, that's no big deal. In my case, my doctor left my left eye slightly under corrected so I wouldn't need to use reading glasses. At first I was very aware of the difference and my doctor advised me to wait a couple of months before I decided to have it redone. Of course, he was right and as the eye continued to improve, the difference became completely unnoticeable.
Believe me, that feeling of being overwhelmed by having perfectly corrected vision doesn't go away.

Yes, & it's the best investment I've ever made. I thought it seemed kind of expensive, but felt it was a miracle after a few hours of recovery. Probably the best laser light show since I saw Pink Floyd in concert, too!

A week after surgery, my vision was 20/15, better than w/ glasses before. No problems whatsoever.

Just choose based on who you're most comfortable w/....I would try to minimize price as a criteria, since you want the best for such a critical operation.

MDS2K,

Because of your age, your eyes are not completely set. Your eyes can get worse. My eye doctor told me that they usually don't recommend getting laser eye surgery until your about 30. That's about the time your vision settles down. If you get it now, you might need to get it again, when you're older.
