Default Anyone has experience with V8 4Runners?

Thinking about getting into a V8 4Runner but just wanted to see what people has to say about them in terms of drivability, reliability, and complaints if any. I have been looking for a 05 and 06 V8 limited. I can't believe how expensive these trucks cost and also how well they hold their value.

My mobile lab technician has had one for years. He loves it and claims 0 problems.

If it's what you're looking for, there are few better trucks available.

The engine is proven, being used in the Land Cruisers and LX trucks for years, and every Toyota truck I've owned has been a tank.

I have heard good things about them from a few friends that use the new 4runners to do some trails and offroading trips. These V8 runners have proven to be good trucks for the size and ammenties that they come with. I am looking for a good daily driver for most of the year, (located in the Bay Area) that I can take up to Tahoe in the winter and carry bigger items when needed. I like how these runners look.

I was thinking about getting back into an 06 A4 avant (sold my 04 A4 avant last year) so at least I would have the AWD. But I don't really want to drive the same car again. Plus it would be very nice to have more cargo space. The only other SUV in the same class I can thnk of is the Pathfinder but I don't think they are as worthy as the Runner is.

My boss left here literally 2 minutes ago to drop it off at Toyota and head over to BMW to pick up his new X5.

He loved that truck and didn't have any problems with it, except for small fit and finish items. Some door handles and stuff wore more than I thought they should've, and the paint seemed pretty soft and susceptible to scratches and damage with minor contact from cargo garage doors, or other vehicles.

I liked that truck and it was quick to drive. I had it out myself several times and was pleasantly surprised with the acceleration, though I was thoroughly unimpressed with the fuel consumption I experienced.

I looked at used X5 4.4i but they are too costly to maintain. When I strike it rich, I will definately pick up an X5!

He arrived in his new X5 about 20 minutes ago. Nice truck, but it's the baby 3.0L 6cyl. He doesn't tow much, it's a city SUV so the most work it'll see is a trip to Costco.

Nice rigs but I hate the electronic transfer case. Are people so lazy that they can't reach down and throw it into 4 wheel drive via a shifter? Some Tacoma Owners have had problems with the t-case switch not obeying their commands. I'm not a big GM/Dodge/Ford fan but a few of their trucks can still be had with real t-case selectors.

I'll get off the soap box now.
