Default Anyone have RC cars as a hobby?

I used to build models as a kid and think I may try building an RC in my "free" time....

If I build the car, it comes with the body and motor and all that, but what about the radio control? You buy that separate? How much?

A decent remote with servo's and receiver will cost about $80.

Order from Towerhobbies.com and they can sell you pre-packaged deals. I just started up again as well. I use to race at the national level when I was younger, and just kind of grew out of it into real cars.

I started up again to give my idle hands something to do during the cold season when the S2K is up on stilts.

Here's the one I want... http://www.conleyprecision.com

On Home Improvement a couple of years ago, they had this Cobra with the 427 in it. It sounded so damn cool when they fired it up because it sounds like a V-8!

i've been thinking about getting back into RC cars too. Use to have a couple electrics: Falcon and a Fox. Today I would definitely go gas though.

Check out http://www.hpiracing.com

A friend of mine has 2 and they are AMAZING. Huge after market parts selection too (read Money Pit).

Best part, you can get an S2000 kit for the street cars.

you can get an hpi kit with everything needed for just under $400
