Anyone here wear Ferragamo shoes
I like Ferragamo shoes. I have 2 pairs that need reconditioning. The one pair was chewed on by my dog (she also chewed straight through another pair, which I had to throw out), and the other pair is just rather worn. I recently bought two new pairs and was talking to the sales guy about Ferragamo's reconditioning program. Basically, my understanding is that they send the shoes back to Italy, where they are more or less completely remade. With the shoes now running around $500/pair (damn Euro, or damn Dollar), it seems worthwhile. Problem is, I can't find any information on the program. Neiman Marcus seems to be their official retailer here in the States, so all inquiries (phone or e-mail) are directed through them, and they don't know shit about any such program. I also called a couple (NYC and Chicago, IIRC) Ferragamo stores, and the folks there didn't know shit either. And, my wanker sales guy won't call me back, and I'm too lazy to drive the 35 miles or so to the Saks in Raleigh. I thought most makers of high-end shoes offered some kind of reconditioning program? So, here I am bored at work and thinking that I should throw this question out to the always insightful S2000 crowd. If anyone's used the program or has first-hand knowledge of how to take advantage of it (if there is even such a thing), I'd love to hear about it. Thanks, in advance.
