Anyone know what the best converter for
Just bought myself Sony Handycam HD SR-11 camcorder. Good vid quality and all with only one problem. People who doesn't have the software that came with my camcorder won't be able to see a damn thing even if I give the files (*m2ts format that is supposed to be Sony proprietary
).
Anyhow, little googling got me this site:
http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2008/05/04/a...ing-free-tools/
I followed the instructions therein...didn't work. It seemed that the WMP still thinks it's an AVS file.
Then, I tried a trial version of this:
http://www.iskysoft.com/video-converter-windows.htmld
It worked. But not with HD. It seems that while the camcorders themselves can process HD images, there aren't supporting software that will let process the images without compromising the image quality. Is this true?
I just want to know if there is any software that I can use to convert the HD images from my camcorder to any of the common file formats (WMP, etc) without losing the image quality.
TIA

tough call, that is precisely the reason i hate sony. They cant do anything standard. and i just read that link... sucks to be you.
I use a Kodak camera that shoots 720p in .MOV files. pretty sweet for a $95 Woot.
saw this on digg. i usually see what smart people post on other reviews.
