My sister-in-law has a '98 and is looking to trade up. She's got some pretty good deals on a 2001, but is there any reason to wait on a 2002? I can't find anything regarding changes for next year and of course the dealers are either clueless or tightlipped (probably both).

Speaking of, isn't the next gen Accord due in '03?

Its the coupe I hope? Those things look pretty hot. If she already has the 98 just tell her to wait for the 2003. Word is since Honda is discontinuing the Prelude there will be a performance version of the 2003 Accord to replace it. All the Accords should get more powerful engines too.

 

I spoke the US Accord engineers in Japan (ran into them, chatted for a minute), and they said that there will be no redesign or major changes until 2003.

The redesigned the bumpers, tailights,6 disc in dash cd, side airbags all for 2001. I think they'll run it another year and put out a new one for 03.

I used to have a 95 ex coupe and a 99 accord v6ex. Nice cars really like them. But honestly I think subaru has an edge with their legacy being AWD and just as nice.
