Anyone own an Ooma?
If you find 10 people being rude or inconsiderate to some total stranger, 9 times out of ten it is because they are on a cell phone. In traffic, at a store, in a movie theater. No thanks. Leave me a message at home or my office and I will get back to you.
My friend here at work is a pretty nice guy but go to Target withh him over lunch and he will make 6 calls to his wife. Usually one is while he is in line paying and the cashier is waiting for his credit card and five people behind him think he is being a jackass and he has no clue he is doing it. I just don't care to pay a monthly fee to be "that guy".

As for a cell phone vs a home phone, I'd rather spend the money on a phone I can use wherever I am rather than one that I can only use at home.
Start paying attention to people and phones - try and count the number of people who get a phone call and ignore it or turn off the ring - I doubt you'll be able to count many at all.
I have to have a cell phone for work. I'm in IT and support several offices so they need to be able to get in touch with me. They pay for it so that's nice. I also don't use it all that much. My wife is the worst offender. She calls me all the time, but I don't always answer it.
