Default Anyone pay to go to football / baseball games?

Since I think expensive concerts are stupid, of course I think it is even dumber to pay $75 to watch a bunch of jerks play sports. They are mostly all thugs these days, and don't even really care if they screw up.... It is funny watching Conseco let a ball bounce off of his head creating a homerun.... DUH... Like he really cared that he let the team down.....

It is all about $...there is no real reason to care if you win or lose anymore.... at $80k per baseball game (or whatever), does A-Rod really give a shit about it.???

I think in the olden days the guys made "decent" money, but nothing like today.... now if a guy does it right, he can live for the rest of his life just on his sign on bonus....... so where is the incentive to do well?

I've been getting USC season tickets for the last few years, if that counts; college athletes don't quite fall into the cynical description you laid out.

Soooo, we meet again. Let's see, are you hypothesizing that professional atheletes don't care about what they do just because they make a lot of $$? So that makes Micheal Schumacher a jerk? Cause you know...he's the highest paid athelete of all time IIRC.

What about college sports? Rivalries and all that? The Clemson vs. Georgia football game is Aug. 30th at Clemson. I'm there!

Well, that just shows how much you know!

It doesn't make him a jerk.

It makes him a slacker.

I only mentioned baseball and football (basketball would count too)..... I did not mention anything about car racing, tennis, golf, etc...........

In individual sports you usually only have yourself to blame (or your equipment)...... in car racing, others can obviously wreck into you.......

EDIT - I guess my title should have said "PROFESSIONAL" football / baseball games...... Both College and High School there is the desire to become a professional (so they can slack).

Edit - silvercat.... i changed my entire reply..... Goodluck with KC... he will get at least 200 yards this season.

I'm headed to see them play my Auburn Tigers next week. It is going to be an awesome game! Did you go last year?

Not a problem! It was an awesome game, even though we lost. I will be happy with us winning a close one this year!
