Anyone work for Toyota? Looking for new Tundra info
Hey,
I'm going to buy a Tundra but I would like to know if Toyota plans on selling a "Crew Cab" (4 full size doors) version anytime soon. I like the extended cab but I would prefer something like the Ford F150 crewhauler....just without the Ford part.
Also, If anyone owns a Tundra could you give me some insight into it's hauling capability.

You might email Chris S and ask him what he thinks (he just got one about 6 weeks ago), but I can tell you already what he will say: he raves about it, thinks it's great. He can provide specifics...
Thanks for the info,
I've heard nothing but good about the Tundra, the only way I would get something else (F250 SD) is if I decided I REALLY
need more hauling capability. I don't thing I do. I just brought 60 bags of mulch home with my Toyota v6 extra cab and my trailer. The tundra wont have it so easy since my next home project involves lots of bricks...
One question, what's your mileage like?

I avg. prob. ~15 mpg...nothing to write home about, but I enjoy hearing the V8's great sound way more than typical for a truck!
Still, it's much cheaper to run than the S2000 when you consider fuel (prem. vs. reg.), oil (syn. vs. dino), and tire life.

IMHO, the Tundra is THE best all-around pickup made to date. Mine was one of the first (VIN #1407) and has hauled more than it should at times but drives like a luxo sedan. Like the stook, it left precious room for improvement off the assembly line.
Ummm, sorry Roceye, got a little excited there over my Tundra. To answer you question, try www.toyota.com/tundra/

I was a little disappointed in the option packages... you can get only a very few combinations of options, yet they don't sell them as packages. In other words, they advertise x-number of options, and then only build y and z combinations of those options. I was blown out of the water immediately because I wanted a limited with cloth bench seat. Also, it's considerably smaller inside than the F150 or Chevy Silverado. However, the Tundra does the best in various crash tests.
At the dealership, ready to buy a Tundra, I simply couldn't get one to fit my needs. Not to mention the towing capacity is pretty weak compared to it's competitors. The Silverado (1500 with the 5.3l) can tow 9300lb!
I think my next truck might just be a new Silverado with the Duramax Diesel and the 5-speed automatic trans. I need to be able to haul a 24ft enclosed trailer with a Stook inside!
