Arachnophobia anyone???
I love spiders. I've kept a number of tarantulas over the years, even a scorpion for a while. For those of you who dont know, scorpions are also arachnids. The spiders you are seeing in your garden are SO cool. I used to see them as a kid but dont see them where I am now. It's actually called a Black and Yellow Argiope in case you were wondering.
A Argiope aurantia for those of you with a penchant for latin classifications. Male and female share a web. Female makes a large web, while the male will make a smaller thicker zigzag web on the edge. Mostly diurnal.
Here's a good pic:

i agree. i dont have any issues with spiders at all. i have this nifty black widow in my back yard that i feed moths now and then.
mosquitos though.... i hate those bastards.
I have a funny spider story though...
I have a good friend who I used to live with. He's cool guy with spiked hair and tattoos and a well practiced sneer for those he frowns down upon..... well honed composure. one day i saw him jump up on a chair like a little girl and wail "kill it! kill it!" I laughed my ass off.

Thanks
. Yup...I'd left a nice information link after all my pics in my initial post. Just wanted to allow credit to go to that informative site/page rather than put their info in my post.
. Sounds like you enjoy your spiders (more than me
)

Those spiders are beautiful...here in California, I've never seen spiders that colorful in the wild. When I was growing up in Missouri, though, I used to see all kinds of spiders.
I didn't know so many people disliked spiders. I've always figured they're small, largely non-poisonous and benign, and keep insects in check...and also pretty freakin' cool!
