Better, add laxatives. Pop the top off without breaking the cap seal, and refill with a good dose of the go juice. Do it twice just to prove a point!

Oh yeah, keep an eye on the bbathroom and you'll also know who stole your soda.

How about adding some black ink to the soda bottle.

Or maybe a dye pack in the lunch bag.

For soda can thieves, my favorite thing (with Diet soda) is to leave a can sitting out in the sun for a few weeks, then stick it in the fridge and let them take it. Tastes really nasty.

That is a variation on a prank we pulled in high school. Used to put one of those small cartons of milk in our locker for about a month, and then sneak it back into the cafeteria line. If you have enough buddies watching you can follow the unsuspecting victim and watch them take a swig of refreshing hot cottage cheese. Vomiting is often soon to follow.

You could do to the soda a varation of the "Stink Palm" from the movie mall rats. Rub the rim of the untouched can through the crack of you butt on a hot day and put in the office fridge. Wait to see who takes a sick day for food poisoning.

I saw a can of Mountain Dew in the fridge at work today and thought about taking it. But then I remembered this thread.

alright, my lunch is now secure in the upstairs fridge where the warehouse guys are
not allowed to go...but still, i will have my revenge!

and all the replies have been nothing short of inspiring, haha thanks!

i will def try the refill-bottle idea, trick is getting the top off without breaking the seal...
and im currently trying to figure out how to spoil an unopened can of regular non-diet coke/pepsi...

also in the works is a refill-the-gatorade bait....
since of course, who can resist a nice icy chilled bottle on a hot day

In my experience, I've learned that soda thieves are usually not deterred, even by an opened bottle.

However, we were still able to close the bottle tight enough that it felt and sounded like an unopened bottle when it was opened by the unsuspecting victim.

YMMV

Do like my wife does...she writes her name on the bottles with permanent marker in big letters.
