att vs verizon/other cell phone carriers
today, cnet showed a bunch of side by side test showing how slow att is compared to verizon.
does anyone have technical knowledge about why att lags so much? is it a gsm vs cdma issue? is it too many users? or is att not doing something right that would fix the problem?
anyone know?

ATT - 3g network, plus coverage sucks even worse for 4g
Verizon- 4G network, coverage almost everywhere verizon is cheaper without a doubt would stay with verizon because customer support is very nice and will work out anything with you.

must be an area thing.
verizon is def NOT cheaper here.
att has no 4g

AT&T's 3G network is faster than any other network out there... even faster than Sprint and T-mobile's 4G networks.
"which is better" depends on where you live. I had great coverage in Texas with Sprint and Verizon... Sprint doesn't work where my family lives in North Carolina, so they switched to Verizon...
Out here in Utah where I live, AT&T has by far the best coverage... I've lived in 4 different houses here in Salt Lake City, and worked at 4 different places...
Sprint worked at 3 jobs and 3 houses.
Verizon worked at 1 job and 2 houses.
AT&T has worked everywhere I've been in SLC...
But like I said, it all depends... Verizon seemed to have better coverage for me in the South... and yes, I have a Verizon phone, AT&T phone, and Sprint phone... don't ask... lol
