Get a swimming coach to help perfect your stroke, you will never be fast unless you have the proper technique down first, then go for the cardio/stamina part of it.

My fastest time on the 100 meter freestyle was 1:00 flat. That was my freshman year in HS.

I suck at breastroke. I can't get my feet to position right.

Odds are your mechanics are wrong. A good coach could probably help you shave some time and demonstrate how to coordinate correctly for various goals -- and train correctly.

You might also be a bit screwed genetically. How big is your head? How big are your hands?

A 1:05 100 breast is about on par with female college times, for what it's worth. Not a bad time.

I think 1:05 was being reffered as his 100 Free time. Just make sure you always have you hands closed. Work on your flip turns and getting through the turn and off the wall as fast as you can and streamline off your turn. Besides that it's just form and practice, practice, practice which will give you stamina. Anyways swimming is boring, just stick with water polo, it's much more fun. If you really want to get fast go join a club like San Marino Tsunamis or Rose Bowl in Pasadena, there are many out there.

I practiced hours on the flip turns. I had it down perfectly tmied and everything.. but on the last flip I had no energy to even do the underwater pull out.

my 50 breast is one of the fastest on the JV team.. but then 100 breast is more about conserving your energy. i know now but i'll still need to work on it.
