Default ATTN: Smokers, Don't be a jackass!

Sorry for the flame guys, but I've had it with irresponsible smokers. There I was driving my S, minding my own business, when the guy in a pick up truck in front of me flicks a but out of his window. It hit the nose of my S sending red ashes up across the hood, and up the wind screen. I watched the but (still burning) catch the slipstream and ride it to the top if the middle of the winscreen and bounce to the roof. Almost immediatly I could smell the burning tobacco through the vents. When I got home I checked the nose and found the ashy imprint from impact. 'n JACKASS. If you smoke, that;s your prerogative, but keep your SH!% to yourself! I'm not a smoker, and maybe i don't know how hard it is to clean out your car's ash tray once or twice a week, but dag-gone it don't through them out on the highway with traffic around. (don't really know how much damage a cig could do, if any, but it just annoys me...a little)

100% with you. I can't count the number of times I've seen irresponsible people (who just happen to be smokers) flick a but out of a moving car. Not only is it pollution, but it can start a fire, and do damage to other vehicles behind it. Smoking sucks, if you do it, you should know better. Do us all a favor and quit. Can you tell this is my #1 pet peeve?

A smoker was kind enough to place their lit cigarette on the bumper of my Jetta (no longer own). Result...black hole left afterwards!

If you want another example of smokers not giving a shit about other people, take a look at the ground next time you're sitting a stoplight. It will probably be covered with hundreds of cigarette butts. Why in the hell do smokers not think that's littering?

I'm just waiting for some smoker to get on this thread and say it's their right to smoke, litter the ground with the butts, and make me uncomfortable and smell like an ashtray.

With a dry summer hitting over here in Aus there's been a huge increase of bushfires again.
Anyone who hasnt got their head stuck air tight up their ass knows that its an incredibly huge issue at the moment and many of these fires are started from motorists carelessly flicking their butts out on the freeway.
Just the other week a bushfire started this way and it required surrounding fire fighters to assist the locals just to control the blaze.
So not only is this irresponsponsible to other drivers but its a known cause for disastrous bushfires which endanger our firefighters and the public.
I seen a car do it the other day and my reaction was simple, gave him the bird, took his plates and reported him.
What will it take for these ignorant fools to realise what they are doing!

Unfortunatly, the police around here would probably laugh in your face for reporting something like that. I could see a better response in an area prone to brush fires, but it rains almost weekly here.

It is littering. One of my friends got a $300 dollar ticket for it. That's why I look around before I throw mine out.

OH CRAP....I've said too much.
