My Roomate has an S4, chipped (of course, what S4 isn't). This car is fast and has a bottomless well of torque. In most real-world situations you're gonna get your ass handed to you, however the car is rather heavy and plodding in the handling department. It's really a wonderful only car, but doesn't quite fit the bill for me for my "sports car".

I was headed south on i680 last week and came across some guy with a yellow s4, guy was like, 45-50 and he was hauling some major ass...goin' like 90 (in a 65). So I was like, 'Alright, lets see what you got...' So after weaving in and out a bit (2 lane hwy) we finally got a clear strech, he floored it so I dropped to 4th and gave him a good run, I was about 4lengths behing him when he floored it and was the same distance by the end (at about 121mph) I don't like going that fast, so I backed off. Later on I cought him in traffic and wanted to give him the thunbs up, but he wouldn't look at me...Prolly just a crazy old man

Lest anyone think this is a track car... Two modified S4's where at the last track day. Both had chips, exhaust, and one had some suspension upgrades. One also had an experienced driver.

Both where relatively slow around the track. Basically passing practice. The car is just too heavy...

But they would make a great winter car here in Colorado.

Based on my experience with Audi (purchased an A4 1.8T Quattro in April 98, repurchased under the Lemon Law in Jan 99), there is no amount of money in the world that would convince me to buy another Audi. Audi tried to avoid responsibility for any problems at nearly every point, and I am grateful that I wasn't working at the time so that I had the time to fight it out with them (and what a fight that was...). The problems were massive and were from all different areas on the car (total transmission replacement at 7500 miles, turbo problems, paint started flaking off, wheel bearing failure, a/c failure).

Makes you wonder if this car was produced the first day after Oktoberfest with hungover employees!

The car is fast (stock) very fast (chipped) but it wallows in turns and the throws on the 6 speed are extremely long. A good bad weather car.

Deadpedal, was that dude pushing it as hard as he can? Could you tell if he modded it or not?

I'm just wondering if that was a stock S4 or not. I know you can't tell if he chipped it or not, but just trying to see how the S2000 compares at speed.
