Audiophiles should probably NOT read this. . . *nsfu*

*nsfu* - not safe for underwear

I'm almost ready to hook my new power amplifiers up to my main speakers. Not a big deal, really.. until you get into the logistics of the whole thing.

The speakers are Paradigm Reference's new Studio 100 V.3's (Rosenut/cherry red).

The main amplifiers? ummm.. yeah:

140lb's each. Monoblock. Tubes. 260w.
Sonic Frontiers Power 3 SE's, with upgraded Svetlana KT88 output power tubes (8 per AMP!!!!). These amplifiers literally scare the piss out of me.

Cables:
Interconnects: AudioQuest Sky (Balanced/XLR/EBU configuration)
Speaker: AudioQuest CV-6 (two cables to each binding post on the speaker/Bi-Wire)

Pre-amp: Anthem AVM-20v2

I've had the AVM20 for the better part of a year, and I'm in love with it.. but.. the Paradigm 100's are new to me, as are the Power 3's (I used to have Reference 80v2's connected to a Solid state amp (Anthem PVA7)).

The Paradigms are currently in my living room being broken in by my PVA7/AVM20, the speakers are connected out of phase, and are sitting right in front of one another, facing each other with towels draped over them, being played at about -30dB on the preamp.

Pics? yep.. got that.

I have very eclectic taste in music, however, it's predominately female vocals (Sarah mclachlan, sarah slean & the like) some jazz, classical, and pop/rap/electronica/techno/house when I am in the mood. I'm also heavily into Bruce Hornsby.

I expect that with the Paradigm Servo15 subwoofer in the mix for electronica/techno/house, and 7.1 home theater, this system should absolutely hammer.

Thats bad news for my neighbors in this building tho. Too bad so sad.

Wow, would you come to my place and help me out? I've got bits and pieces of stuff, but nothing quite as nice as that. I think the pinnacle of my system is my Definitive Technology CLR 2500 center channel (with 8" power sub internal), so that should tell you about the class of stuff I'm dealing with. You're out of my range!

THAT is probably my IDEAL NYC apartment....I like the austerity of all the equipment, but, and thisis probably beyond anyone's control, I am bothered by the rats nest behind the equipment.
