Default Auto & Home Insurance

I'm switching up my coverages on my house and car soon, Progressive is anally raping me without lube and I'm done with them. I love their customer service but it isn't worth what they are charging me. So far I have gotten some good quotes from Travelers and All State, just curious to see if anybody has dealt or had claims with these companies before and what any pros and cons are. I also contacted AIG but screw them, they wanted too much info to even help me get a ball park figure and the guy on the phone sounded like he could honestly give a shit less if he helped me or not.

At least in Texas Allstate and State Farm are the most expensive and have the most troubles with claims.

If you can find one, find a Tennessee based company. Here in Texas Germainia, a Texas based company, beats the pants off of the 2 biggies in price and claim service. There's bound to be the equivalent there.

while i dont do sales, i work in the insurance industry right now. in new jersey, both listed companies are very good. there are discounts associated with packaging policies in travelers for sure (no surprise there). just ask yourself...is you in good hands? answer truthfully and you should be ok

Travelers claim service is horrible.

I use them for home and auto, but only because I've been too busy to switch. Their price is great, but just hope you never need them to make something right.

I have had nothing but problems with allsnake.

When I lived in the midwest and took a trip to canada, they refused to cover a claim (in no-fault BC!!!) where the other guy admitted responsibility! The Chicago regional office told me they chose not to persue it- so too bad, and I couldn't even sue allsnake because the contract requires mediation. (I went to farmers then, not 1 problem.)

In cali here they are way expensive, sued the state to fix their rates, and when the lost last month, raised the rates OVER the state's new manditory rate reduction. I tried to get D&D from my local agent, and I had to call him 4x to get a response, then he lied about it. Needless to say, alsnake ftl.

hmm.. All State quoted me $300 less every 6 months than what Progressive is trying to charge me, their rates were right there with Travelers. It almost seems insurance is a crock regardless of who you go with.

I have Allstate, home and auto, have had them for almost 15 years. I've found their rates competitive and their service very good, although most of my interaction is with the local agent. I did file a claim a few years ago, off-season boating incident (which was also covered by Allstate). Boat was totaled, check showed up 3 days later. 2nd happiest day of my boating life (first was the day I bought it).

My Prelude is insured by Travelers. The only claim I've made is a windshield replacement, and that went well.
