When you do it for a living, you have to care. How would you feel if you spent $20,000 on a TV, and it was a piece of shit, and nobody told you?

Too bad it's made by Samsung. I sell this stuff for a living, and with the exception of their DLP TV's, that brand sucks major ass. It's good to see their trying, but why couldn't a decent company come out with a huge plasma?
I concur.

I have a feeling the reason Samsung brings out massive TVs, rather than a company that actually makes good products, is Samsung doesn't see the value in quality products that last, but rather see dollar signs in "first to market." Sure, you can get a very large screen from Samsung for the same money as a simply big screen from other companies like Sony, JVC, Phillips, and others, but those other companies spend alot of money on making good products that last and garner goodwill and favorable word-of-mouth from their customers. Samsung sees its customers as Walmart sees them - ignorant, making decisions based on cosmetics and price tag rather than underlying quality, disposable and innumerable.

Well, I don't know if I'd go quite so far as to classify their customers as financially-irresponsible morons. All I'm saying in the above statements is that for the money, you can spend it on a much better product than Samsung. I can't think of one product they make that is the best in any given category of consumer electronics.

Unless you have a huge mansion with a huge room for that huge TV, you'll blind yourself in no time in a little room.

We put 30" and 40" NEC LCD's into airports for Flight Information Displays. These run 24x7x365 and only two have failed from over 500!!

I'll agree with that. I'm typing this on their best LCD computer monitor. They make fantastic commercial displays, but don't make any consumer TV's (yes, there IS a difference). They sell their plasma panels to other TV manufacturers, and they are some of the best and brightest you can get.
