Default babies are weird

i have a two and a half month old son..im very new to the whole dad thing, but i love him to death and wouldnt change a thing...im 20, so im still young, but im married, which makes this whole parenting thing very nice.

anyway....in the evening i will feed him and he will be dead tired and he will eat maybe two ounces then fall asleep...i can pick him up, talk to him, try and burp him and he wont wake for nothing, but as soon as i put him down in his reclined bouncer chair type thing he starts figiting, eyes poppin open, little noises come out of him....so im like... ok....

i then pick him back up and as soon as i do, i mean almost instantly he is asleep again..im like what?? so i put him back down and the same thing happens..geez..babies are weird and i have alot to learn...actually, i do believe i never stop learning

BOrn on DEC 03.....another very cool thing about him is when we went to his two month checkup they rated his abilities in the 97%, which means hes advanced..he is basically the equivalent in the ability department as that of a 4-7 month old baby.. holds head up, smiles, rolls over..coos ALL the time..

anyway,...i kinda needed to brag a little about my new friend..

You can see a couple pictures of him here:

if you look in the 260 link there is a New new born picture of him.

My wife brings in 60k a year working as a sales rep for the newspaper where we live. shes manager of her department so she brings in GREAT commission......i got my car when i was 18...i had help from a little accident in the family and help from parents...and for our house, we rent for now, its a little 1200 sq foot home on a 1/2 acre lot...and as for me, i get to stay home with the baby..(Great for bonding)..

I plan on getting back to school within in the next few months, but we both agreed it would be best if at least one of stayed home with the baby, and since she brings in more than i could, she went to work..

So yes, i am a house DAD, not mom..haha..

Congrats supercharged

Im pretty sure that the baby would still be used to feeling his mother's heart beat and that's why he feels comfortable sleeping with yours. Try putting a clock or a metronome somewhere to mimic the beat to make him more comforable.

I echo naomi-sarah - kudos to you for staying home with your munchkin. I'm sure it will be an experience you won't regret!

Awww...he is a cutie.

If he falls asleep while eating, try blowing gently in his face or gently thumping his ear. I saw a friend do this when her little one fell asleep while she was giving him a bottle. It must be annoying, or she needed a breath mint, because he did wake up a bit.

I watch my buddy con his kid to sleep the easy way. A tv with no picture just the white and black fuss and the fuss sound (white noise). Works likes a charm mix that with the metronome/ticking clock and you've got a sure fire way to help him sleep. The tv drowns out the noise your making around the house but make sure you have a monitor or else you won't hear him making noise. Congrats on your new addition! I think it's fantastic that your able to stay at home with you son. Good Luck to you and yours.
