Timothy - Gift of God
Reese - Enthusiastic
William - Protector

Or Scrim.

(Sorry! )

John - God is Merciful
Paul - Little
George - Farmer
Ringo - I'm Very Attached to That Finger (go rent "Help!")

(Sorry again. My daughter was watchihg.)

By all means, get a baby name book, or try www.babynames.com. We wanted to name our younger son Rhys (Welsh for Reese), but first had to make sure it didn't mean "scum of the earth" or some such.

Be careful of his initials, too. Don't name him Andrew Spencer, for example, or Phillip Ulysses. (My wife had suggested Arielle Kaitlyn for our daughter till I pointed out that her initials would be AKC, as in "American Kennel Club".)

Here's a good link for the meaning of names.

http://www.zelo.com/firstnames/index.asp

I think you should choose Luke.
My name means Light. I like this definition:

Luke = Light = the sensation aroused by stimulation of the visual receptors
