Bad Caliper
I think I lost the passenger-side front caliper on the Teg yesterday. I started to notice a rubbing-type hum coming from that passenger-side front of the car. I thought I might have something stuck in the wheel so I got out and looked and it appears to be free of material. My braking distance has increased a bit as well. The rotor was hot so the pads are in contact with it.
Any thoughts?
By the way the car has 129,000 miles ('96 GSR).

Yea probably it's bad given the milage (and assuming you've never rebuilt it.) I don't know anything about that caliper but here are some things to check:
Floating caliper:
Does it seem to slide when shaken?
Are the inboard and outboard pads worn evenly?
No might mean seized caliper bolts which are generally replaceable (and the caliper bolt holes can be gently reamed.)
Yes probably means a stuck piston and a caliper replacement or rebuild. Some calipers cannot be rebuilt. Not solving the problem is a safety issue and ensures a warped rotor.
There is also a chance the problem is a wheel bearing and a slight chance of a heat-caused problem as a result of an outboard CV joint failure. I include these only because of the milage on the components.
