Oh hell yes - More than just a bad taste, it can give you wickedly bad breath. I used to have this smokin hot girl in my office who never ate in order to maintain her weight. She would come over to my desk to give me reports, etc, and she had the worst breath imaginable - talk about a buzzkill...

people who don't eat and only drink coffee at the office are the WORST.

it probably has something to do with the fact that your saliva glands aren't at work so the spit and stuff in your mouth and the back of your throat get all stagnant and icky.

orbit FTW. "Fabulous!"

the best is when you drink beer after a big meal and go to sleep without brushing your teeth. waking up in the morning, you can almost taste the funkiness, and the sticky residue feeling is just overwhelming.

Many things can cause bad breath. A major cause is decreased saliva. Saliva has a cleaning action that helps reduce or eliminate bad breath. When saliva decreases, bacteria can grow, causing bad breath.

Bad breath caused by a decrease in saliva may be especially noticeable:

In the morning.
The flow of saliva almost stops during sleep. The reduced cleaning action of the saliva allows bacteria to grow, causing bad breath.

When you are hungry.
Bad breath is more common in people who miss meals or are dieting. Chewing food increases saliva in the mouth. When you are not eating, saliva decreases and bacteria growth increases, causing bad breath.

When you are dehydrated.
When you become dehydrated, you do not produce as much saliva. The reduced cleaning action of the saliva allows bacteria to grow, causing bad breath.

From diseases that affect the salivary glands, such as Sj
