Default Bad Things happen 3 at a time!

First off earlier this year my 22 year old Hotpoint microwave died. Pretty good run on that one and I have very few issues with the new Whirlpool replacement . Next a couple months later my 13 year old Sears dehumidifier died and tried one of those Soleus replacement but noticed the bucket is a lot smaller than on the old models. I have to empty the new one 2 times a day not once a day. Does every manufacturer of everything have to cut out all the important features that matter??
Now to really top it all off my 8 or 9 year old Panasonic DVD player has given up and now looking for a replacement I noticed almost all of the newer ones DO NOT have a headphone jack in the front like my old one . Another feature I constantly USE is missing.
Damn it had to vent . Right now looking at Yamaha DVD-S1800? Anybody got a Yamaha DVD player ? Do they live up to the Hype?

Bad things do not happen three-at-a-time.

Hey man Reliability rocks. That is why I do lots of research on almost every product I buy . I have an expectation of 10 to 15 year product life. I guess you missed my point on the features I find important are NOW MISSING on 2 of the products that have died.
My favorite reliability story belongs to my buddy with a 1990 model Nissan truck . He told me that it was losing compression but then again after driving it 17 years to work and with a whopping 502,000 miles that he guess he can't complain! I saw him a couple months ago and he said the truck is still running but not that well! Now that is reliability and you don't see any GM products with that kind of story!

I agree completely, bad things do usually come 3 at a time... sorry to hear about all your trouble.. Personally I would recommend you get a blu-ray player tho, sounds like a good reason to do so

People still use DVDs? Time to take this opportunity to upgrade. Go on craigslist around your area and pick up a blu ray player amigo.

blu-rays are still expensive (imo), but if you're a tech junky, its a must...

the picture is phenominal, especially CG scenes... and upgrades the dvd's slightly...

i have the sony 350 model... its a little slow to load, but can't complain...
