It appears the Bay Area may have surpassed Humbolt County and the rest of the north coast of California as the marijuana-growing capitol of the nation.
State officials say they have seized more pot in the Bay Area this fall than along the north coast. Nearly one-third of the pot plants confiscated statewide came from Santa Clara, San Mateo, Sonoma, and Napa counties.
In Santa Clara County alone, agents collected more than 50,000 marijuana plants.

We were in British Columbia last summer. The value of marijuana (locally called BC Bud) exported from British Columbia to US now exceeds all other exports, including oil and gas, hydroelectric power, and lumber and other forest products.
I bet if they legalized pot and put a $0.10 tax per ounce to go towards reducing the deficit or feeding homeless or something this country would be much better off. For college students that's only $3-5 a semester! Cheaper than the college gym that charges you a $100 activities fee even if you don't go there!
dude, that's because it's a heck of a lot harder to find pot in the woods of humboldt - ever seen a picture of that place - it looks like endor - literally they filmed those scenes from the movie there.

Seems to be slowly moving in that direction.
I would rather be in a room full of pot heads than drunken lager louts.
