Usually, a cub is always close by its mother. When that cougar was chasing the cub, I was wondering why its mother was not close by. A black or brown bear is a formidable weapon; even a fully grown tiger or lion would have a hard time against one, much less a lowly cougar.

That cub was an orphan. It's mother was killed in a rockslide (1988 movie). It was adopted at the end of the clip.
