Becoming Canadians eh?
When I was stationed in England it was common for Americans to say they were Canadian when traveling. Sometimes we'd even get that tip during our security briefings before leaving. Especially when going over to mainland Europe. Not many people like us over there. This was all after 9/11 though and during the war.
Went all over Europe (without a maple leaf pin) and had no problems.

I have found that being polite and as unobtrusive as possible when I travel, both in the States and internationally, is the way to go.

Didn't bother to read the whole article, but these 2 lines caught my attention:
* There's also a quick reference guide -- "How to Speak Canadian, Eh?" -- on answering questions about Canada.
* When it comes to sports, the guide suggests: "This is easy to remember. There is only one real sport in Canada and it is called hockey. Regardless of any trivia question, the answer is 'Wayne Gretzky."'
It's funny cause it's true
