u should hold out for more money. i think you could get 20,000 if you look around hard enough. people with fertility problems also have psycological problems and are willing to pay large sums of money to rid them of problems weighing on their minds. if they already have a couple lined up, you should try to negotiate.

I have a friend who did this and she was able to get more than that. However, I think it all depends on where you go and if you are lucky to get picked. It may be a while before you are picked again. And once you do it, I don't think you are able to do it again for a certain period of time. Not totally sure on that though.

Anyway, she said it was worth it. She said it made her feel good knowing that it could be helping someone out there.

If you do it, that would be very nice and get you some good money. It would be great for the people who get the eggs.

1)be sure you are comfortable knowing that there will be a child out there that is yours genetically that you will never know.

2)be sure you realize that there will be some pain and discomfort in the process.

Funny, I just heard an ad on the radio this morning for egg donation, is that where you got the idea Unit? Hormones mess with your body, always... I would check what the possible health side affects are... and search for people who have done it and see what the recovery is really like, cause I can tell you some of the stuff I've been in and out of hospitals for was not worth $5k. But I have to admit on the surface, this doesn't sound bad, you're helping another couple, and getting out of debt

"You will be required to refrain from drinking alcohol,"

Ohhh, looks like a bad idea for you Unit.

Personally I would consider doing it, although I would really want to look at the long term implications. I think right now if a child results from your egg, the child will not know anything about you, but what if the laws change? Of course that's impossible to know, but it's something to think about.

It seems like a win-win situation for both you and the prospective parents, assuming you can handle PMSing for a month. Personally I'd probably need to take that entire 4 weeks off work so I didn't end up killing anyone or ruining every personal relationship I have.

Yep, wrong people to ask. Ask your mom, or aunts.
