Most all of the above I have seen, but no one mentioned my all time favorite (even though it is not really a cartoon) -- Fraggle Rock!

 

Sounds familiar but can't picture it in my head could you describe it.

Hmmm... Where to begin describing Fraggle Rock?
It is a Jim Henson production of some creatures (Fraggles) that live underground and are full of energy and mischief and fun. They co-exist with some smaller creatures called Doozers that wear hard-hats and are constructing towers and roads all the time and the Fraggles eat the constructions because they are made of radish dust... Funny what a person remembers.
There was lots of singing and games and some drama because there were giants living outside their underground world called Gorgs. They had gardens that the Fraggles would raid.
Maybe this description will help you remember the show. I wish I could find some reruns of the show somewhere. Very high energy and entertaining.
