Oh Jeez I like the Simpsons but BEST EVER???
Taking into account: animation quality, voice talent, music, entertainment value, staying power, character design, and overall bang-for-the-buck? Bugs Bunny/ Warner Brothers shorts from the 40's-60's are the absolute best. Tom and Jerry come in a distant second.
For pure entertainment and the laugh-til-you-cramp factor, I'll take South Park.
Regarding Robotech, it's a great show but have you noticed how 5% of the animation is brilliant...but the other 95% is GARBAGE? That's a classic example of a strong story that carries the weak imagery. Big points reduction there.
