Gloffer has picked one of the all time best. The unedited version with the young lady on the motorcycle is classic.

Ronin is awesome. "Who am I" has pretty good chase scene too.

What about the two classic car chasses from The French Connection and To Live and Die in L.A. (both directed by William Friedkin).

Ronin - DEFINATELY!

Gone in 60 seconds, sucked as a movie and anything else it tried to be. Another Simpson-Bruckheimer movie made for the masses, mass appeal, holey plots, vague and impossible stunts that are flat out cheesey as hell.

Another great car chase full of car crash movie - The Blues Brothers. =D

Ronin was good; however, every car chase since the one in Bullitt has been derrivative of that great Steve mcQueen movie, IMO.

Even Car & Driver gave props to Ronin over Bullitt and The French Connection, two chase scenes that were previously sacred.

Since I've never seen Ronin, I go

1) Bullitt
2) The French Connection
3) The Chase (Charlie Sheen & Christy Swanson, the whole movie is the chase and they get it on *during*)

Definitely the French Connection in my book. The Chase is worth watching too, but it's more hilarious than anything.

Ronin for me.

I like the director, John Frankenheimer. He is the best car chase scene director. Another movie that I like for car chase scene is Grand Prix which is also directed by John Frankenheimer.

Don't forget, he also directed 'Ambush' for bmwfilms.com
