I use travelocity a lot. They seem to have pretty good prices. Lately, I have only been going on shorthaul flights, so I've been doing a lot of flying on Southwest. You have to go to their website since they aren't a part of the Sabre network.

I know Orbitz was set up (www.orbitz.com) but I haven't used it yet. It's run by some of the airlines.

I'm on orbitz.com right now. I usually use expedia.com. I was just wondering what else was out there and what other people used.

if your times were more flexible the best site is hotwire...
you definately fly a major airline but you won't know til you agree to purchase (they list all their partner airlines and i wouldn't mind flying with any of them) and you can't pick you flight times are the only two draw backs but my friend saved over 200bux over any other price she found. and she got great flight times to boot. so it's worth a shot but than again you could get screwed with the times

I agree with the above suggestions but would also check with the regular airline web sites as this will give you a base cost to compare to and in addition there are unannounced specials and city pairs on the airline web site for special discounts.

beware hotwire. they can cancel your purchase anytime they want, leaving you stranded.

Lately, I've always recieved better fares from Orbitz than Travelocity, Expedia, etc ...

The one site I use that hasn't been mentioned is www.cheaptickets.com. They seem to have a different system than the other sites ... while they are usually more expensive, every once in a while I've found them to be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (especially when flying with < 14 days notice).

Have fun,
Derek
