Obviously, the thread is going no where. Would you guys please cool it? It seems like everytime the topic of stock vs mod has been brought up, things are getting cynical and unconstructive very quickly. Therefore, this thread is closed. If we can't be nice to each others then it's best to avoid each others!!!

Hey! why close this thread. Just because two guys/gals have a little tif. There was some real information in this thread and I personaly found the discussion to be much more interesting than "S2000 vs Camaro SS".

We're adults, at least most of us. Why do we all have to get along? There was a lot of constructive discussion going on in this thread. Bieg's original premise was a good one. Don't let one person ruin an otherwise good discussion.

I just read that thread. GTRPower is a troll. That was one of the most interesting discussions this board has ever had. GTRPower singlehandedly drove into the dirt, plus his premise was so patently idiotic my stomach hurts from laughing at him.

Good question. Thanks for bringing it up and thanks for liking the original topic. I put a lot of time writing the original post and was a little upset that it didn't even make 24 hours before someone felt they had to close it.

In defense of the guys running the board they have become more atuned to the personal attacks that always seem to happen once someone posts a subject that is somewhat controversial. I guess they are trying to take some sort of action.

That being said it is unfortunate that a thread some of us found interesting and thought provoking gets closed because one person needed to sabotage it with personal attacks. It would be nice if instead of closing the thread that the offender could be restricted from posting in that particular thread. It would be nice if the offender could be made to leave the room instead of shutting down the party so to speak. I don't know if the forum software is capable of such action though.

Maybe the thread can be reopened and GTR just be asked not to post to it anymore? Moderators?

What was so controversial about it? I thought it was darn good. Tuning of a suspension system is pretty close to rocket science in my book, as I have lived through my fair share of crappy aftermarket ones.

It was clear that it turned south because of some ongoing personality/philosophy clashes. Too bad, the thread had promise and interesting discussion. Maybe we need for the moderators to clear the air and we can do it again in the future.

Yeah, the guy is intolerant of any ideas that contradict with his. I don't care if he (or anyone) argues his/her point as long as I am allowed to argue mine. What I do take exception to is all the personal attacks because I am presenting a point that contradicts with his dogma. I went out of my way trying to bite my tongue with him in the last couple of threads as I refuse to get personal here ever again but as I said in that thread,...he is acting badly.

Thanks for posting this, DriveWay.

I too was avidly following that thread and learning a lot from BOTH sides of the discussion. The great thing was -- it was a DISCUSSION, and for a while there, felt like one of the few good ones that had started in a long time!

It went south not due to two participants having a clash, but one participant who's first and every post in that thread was inflammatory and insulting towards the originator.

Again, it was aimed at Bieg (who was otherwise getting along fine with everyone) at a personal level. Bieg did well to not be pulled in and said little more towards the flaming segments than "you are behaving badly."

I thought that was a tip-off to the moderators.

Instead, the whole thread got shut down -- because of one person. Sure, I'd like to hear that guy's opinion and learn from his experience, but not like that.

Looks like another thread bites the dust. See Jason's follow up thread.

Bieg your like the Rodney Dangerfield of this forum. You just don't get any respect.

I don't know why all of a sudden the moderators have chosen to shut down any thread that gets a little heated. I have not seen anyone threaten anyone else on these threads and very little if any direct name calling.

If we have to be a "nice" forum we'll never get any usefull information.

I don't know who locked the thread... I lost a respectful and informative post that took me 45 minutes to write because in that time someone had locked the thread. I'm done trying to have rational discussions on here. It just doesn't work when someone can't say 'uncle.'
