Bieg,

I agree that personal attacks are out of bounds, but sometimes your tone and use of capped phrases egg people on and stir emotions. As I said in an earlier post, the best thing to do is to ignore intemperate posts. As someone once said, "Don't get into a pissing contest with a skunk."

Just some friendly advice.

I don't know for sure of course, but I suspect the other parties feel the same way, and justify their posts in just that manner. It's just a vicious circle, really. If somebody wants the circle to end, the best way is for that party to end it. The circle gets broken, the venom stops, and those who are bothered by the fireworks can go back to reading at ease. Pointing fingers isn't going to accomplish anything constructive except to perpetuate the situation.

If one party stops but the other keeps spewing enmity, they look like an ass and makes moderator intervention much more justifiable.

All IMO, of course. *shrug*

DriveWay... I agree a few days' time and then a new discussion. Why don't you do the honor and start the discussion when you feel the temperature has lowered sufficiently. Think about some specific questions you have and post them... you might even think about posting in Under the Hood where most of the geeks hang out!

Always... and this goes for anyone - PM me or email me if there are any specific questions you want me to try and address.

I've deleted my post in this thread. I didn't intend it to single out a user to debate over even though that's obviously what I did. I think we should all just stop debating individuals, look in the mirror, move on and try to act better in the future.

It really doesn't matter. People are going to be people and they're are all kinds. That's what makes the world go round. I would also like to see the thread reopened it was a pretty good dicussion.
