Bible: fiction or non-fiction?
This was a really good book. When you say the Bible are you referring to what is commonly used today in most Catholic and Christian churches? From my understanding way back in the day, King James and some other people got together to choose what books would be added into the bible. Hunting around more I found that books of the older bibles were left out because they (King James and Others) deemed not inspired by God. Google the Book of the Apocrypha, you will find a lot of things were left out of our current version of the bible.
Fiction or Non-Fiction, its hard to say I guess it depends on what you believe in.

That is a long discussion. The bible is a long collection of stories, some date back to other cultures and may have been "borrowed" and included in the final book. I think it is a collection of both personally. Those who read the Da Vinci code though seem to think it is supposed to be non-fiction. It was intended to be a riveting made up story, that is why it is sold and marketed as fiction. People read it and think it is supposed to be true.
Have not read it myself, does not interest me. I am more into WWII historical stuff at the moment.

The translated bible is a book written by men for men. I think that it has coloration in translation. It's a shame that so many people latch onto one translation and dont take the time to look at different versions. I also personally belive that the parables are intended to convey life lessons and should be read as such rather than focusing whether or not someone was swallowed by a whale the key should be to understand why they were put in that situation and why they were allowed to continue on.
The Da Vinci Code was an amazing book. Dan Brown does such a good job of weaving half truths that you find yourself wondering just how much of the story he is telling could be possible.
