Haha, it would seem that way but there are much more factors to consider other than location. If all things were equal then I would pick Pasadena hands down but as I mentioned early these options offer different pros/cons.

Morris, I get that vibe as well. But I guess that comes with being successful in a large corporation, putting in a lot just to get yourself slightly ahead of everyone else.

I pm'd you I have sooo many questions haha.
i replied. sorry i was busy at work (13-hour days, kids at home, etc.)

i will publicly say that your experience at GE will look much better to a wider variety of OTHER employers than at the lab (that's what those of us who worked at JPL called it).

you should weigh out your pros and cons on your own, don't let strangers tell you what to do
ok i'll stop being a douchebag, but i just wanted to say that if the cost of living is high in california wouldn't you also be paid more?

Wuuut

Thanks for the inputs guys. It was a difficult decision but I'll have to put fun (socal) off for now. GE's the final decision. Thanks Mingster for PMing me back

Congrats on the new job. Greenville is a pretty nice town, even if you dont like it, sounds like you will only be there for few years. You should look into the Clemson MBA program while you are there, GE may even help pay for it. Very good program with many classes that pertain to the business side of engineering. Many of my friends from college went through and it really helped to accelerate career advancement. Good luck.
