Fragapalooza is over

Next up: Lanageddon: High Yield

360 gamers in a hall, vying for prizes and leeching craploads of music and anime ^__^ WE ARE GEEKS! O_O

Right now I'm pushing 38 hours of no sleep. Stayed up since Saturday morning cuz a) I had a lot of Bawls to drink and b) lots of tournaments just back to back to back to play in and watch on the big screens.

I won an nVidia/Microsoft goodies bag during "The Big Draw":

-A new Microsoft Mouse (IntelliMouse Pro)
-An nVidia/ASUS shirt
-A PlanetSide frisbee signed by the PlanetSide Girls
-An Unreal Tournament 2003/Digital Extremes Limited Edition poster
-A kiss on the cheek from each of the PlanetSide Girls

As far as tournaments, my team got their ass handed to them in the Halo Tournament, and we came middle of the pack in the CounterStrike tournament. I also did fairly well in BattleField 1942, although I didn't enter any tournaments for BF, I just played for fun.

Also, I uploaded 362.4 GB's to people on the network, and downloaded 56.8 GB's. Gotta love GigaBit LAN setups ^__^

More pics (with relevant short stories under each):

This pic was taken after the group picture above. I had just commented, after being asked, that I thought the brunette on the left side of the pic was the cutest, and the blond on my right goosed me JUST as the picture was been taken (the tickets are from the food bank drive, they drew for a complete Intel 3 GHZ 800 FSB system), so that's why I look like I've got something crawling up my ass. Also, the uniforms and guns are from the props department at Sony Pictures, and were actual props from Starship Troopers.

What quickly became known simply as "fuel," the beverages contained in these innocent looking boxes kept some people awake for 4 days, I shit you not. Each bottle of this stuff has 35 mg of concentrated caffeine O_o It's also a very fruity drink, so it's like drinking carbonated juice, and it the rushes you got off the stuff were insane after being up for 40 hours straight

The prize room. There was an actual security guard up there the whole event. You're looking at well over $18,000 USD worth of prizes and schwag donated by Intel, nVIdia/ASUS co-operative, Microsoft (they gave out about 400 Intellimouse Pro's at the event). *THIS* is the stuff that you come to win in the door prize draws, tournaments, and contests. BTW, for those wondering, every one of those little orange boxes is a 3 GHz CPU, and every one of the big orange boxes is a reference quality 800 MHz FSB mobo by Intel. (I'm not advertising, just listing brand names). The video cards are GeForce FX5600's, 5800's and one 5900 256 MB DDR vid card that went to the winner of a random draw from a hat.

West Side of Fragapalooza, holding XBOX (far distance in the back of the picture), tournament area (blue drapes on right side front of pic), and head table (directly below the window this pic was taken out of. I was on this side of the hall.

East Side Fragapalooza, holding the "lounge" (two big screens and lots of couches) at the bottom of the pic, the PlanetSide Girls area (off to the right of the pic, you can't see it) and gamers ^__^

There we go ladies and gents, a quick and rough pictoral tour of Fragapalooza
